About Trey Short

Trey relocated to Austin in 2011 and completed his degree in merchandising from Texas State.  He spent 11 years in the fashion industry articulating award-winning visuals: window dressing, merchandising, floor planning and wardrobe styling for notable retailers before his acquisition by Leslie Gossett for L Design & Staging.  

“In my eyes the methodology of outfitting a person’s specific body is the same as styling a room. Each unique space, like each body, requires complex problem solving, and astute attention to scale and form combination, color and pattern mixing, etc.” 

Emphasizing this styling similarity led to an organic transition into decorating homes in a way that promotes their unique characteristics as valuable advantages.

At the ethos of Trey’s world lens lies immense creativity. He is known for being meticulously aware that every detail of a space, down to the simple placement of a book, adds to the layered emotion that a thoughtful design conveys. Creating conceptually tailored furniture and art packages to market properties in a way that is on brand with each client is a key driver to Trey’s ambitious growth and success with LDS.
